Affordable California Campaign
Too many Californians are struggling to stay housed. Rents keep going up, but wages haven’t kept pace. From January 2020 to June 2025, rent increased 38% while wages increased 23%. That’s why we’re supporting policies that will keep families, seniors, and youth from being pushed out of their homes.
Tenant Protections
AB 1157 keep rents fair: Puts limits on how much landlords can raise rent each year and make these rules permanent.
SB 436 stops unfair evictions: Gives renters 14 days to catch up on late rent (right now it’s only 3 days).
AB 1248 bans hidden fees: Stops landlords from adding surprise charges that make housing even more expensive.
Affordable Housing
AB 736/SB 417 builds more affordable homes: Creates a $10 billion fund to build and protect housing for families, seniors, and people with low income.
AB 1165 makes the state invest long-term: Requires California to plan and keep funding real solutions to end the housing crisis.
AB 801 bring in billions from banks: Makes banks and lenders invest in communities, unlocking $13 billion every year for housing and neighborhood investments.
